Karthik Narain, Accenture’s CTO, has joined Google Cloud as Chief Product & Business Officer.

He’ll lead product and engineering across cloud, developer, data, applied AI, and go-to-market, and will work closely with Google Public Sector. (Source: CRN)

Why This Move Matters Now

Clearer product + GTM handshake

One leader over product and sales often speeds decisions, simplifies packaging, and shortens the path from pilot to production.

AI in the flow of work

Narain helped large firms modernize with cloud, data, and AI. Expect opinionated patterns for agents, data governance, and secure rollout.

Public sector push

His remit includes close work with Google Public Sector—good news if you sell to government or regulated markets.
